Pictures of One of My Force 335's
« on: March 18, 2017, 06:40:12 PM »
Nice reel, but very simple. No oscillating spool, no double drag system. This model has a rubber drag washer (305330), most Johnson's have a spring washer. I have 4 Force 525's and they all had a rubber drag washers also, but I like to fish with them so I replaced the rubber washers with spring washers.

Great pix of your Force 335, Dennis!  I have a Force 315 I got last year, haven't used it yet.

Dennis do you fish the 335's. I ask because I'm about to tear into one and am kind of excited about it.

I haven't fished with it, it's to big for my type of fishing. I did play around with it in the back yard before I tore it down. Not sure what size line was on it, but it was old, heavy and curled badly. It appeared to work as it should, but with that old line I couldn't get it to cast very far. It cranked in alright and the drag worked. After I took it apart I never put any line on it. Like I said in my earlier post, I liked it's simplicity and believe it would work fine for heavier fishing. If your going to use heavy line a reel with on oscillating spool might be more efficient. When I panfish 4-6lb line is the biggest I use. When I catfish I prefer bait casters.
