Title: My Seville Parts
Post by: Huckster37 on August 08, 2017, 02:23:40 PM
Took it apart to clean so here's a few pictures. This reel has it all. It has an Oscillating spool, an internal secondary drag, it even has a set of bearings for the crank shaft to turn in. I bet this was the most expensive Johnson to produce.

dennis, the 170 as far as i have been able to tell is identical to the 435. but, according to published info. both reels were produced with and without the oscillating spool. schematics for both reels suggest using the schematic for the 165 if you happen to get one with the oscillating spool. I have yet to find either a 170 or a 435 without oscillation...
