Here is one I recently obtained. Line spool part of the main frame. Saw no side screws so assumed the badge side plate is attached via some kind of tab. I saw a small slot that I thought maybe I could try and open it with but is very tight and didn't budge. So since the reel works fine, I decided to leave it alone. If I every come across another one, I will definitely pry it open. You can see on the foot bottom Hong Kong.

Not sure why I needed more than one overpriced reel but I have two Black 100B reels. Foolish I guess! Not as nice as the mint one David has but still pretty nice. Appropriately store them in Johnson green felt bags. Still curious like others why the color black!

Not much known about them that I am aware of. I was able a while back to grab the Trigger Fish rod and reel combo. Reel didn't work but had never seen the rod they came with. Not sure what the gears are made of inside the reel but on the one I got, the gears had crumbled.

We know Johnson very quickly moved to market a pink Princess reel. And that they did so using the existing Century 100-A by painting it pink prior to establishing and marketing the Princess 100AP and subsequent 100BP reels. This reel provides the evidence of Johnson overpainting some of the Century 100-A parts to get the princess out quickly. Interesting that they used a raw Century front cover for example to paint and stamp the name and didn't use a raw side plate to do the same. And this side plate has not been painted pink after manufacture!

My Mom had Parkinsons for many years. Dad took care of her at home on the farm and finally in 2011 decided he couldn't do it anymore. So we moved Mom into a skilled nursing facility and Dad after some persuasion into an adjacent assisted living area. Funny how things work out as within in 12 months Dad got a brain tumor and passed fairly quickly. So Mom had was suddenly without Dad. Mentally Mom was very good with only an occasional Parkinsons caused hallucination. Biggest issue was she was immobile and depended on the facility for her care in her new "home"! My youngest sister living an hour away become the contact and supplier of things. I would go back on weekends to relieve my sister on doing things. I quickly learned what you think are simple things like getting her dental care are not! And while the facility was usually OK, I had to take them on several times regarding the care of my Mom. She was there until 2018 when she passed in her sleep one night at age 93. Went through several managers during that time. I had the Iowa code on nursing homes etched in my brain and took them on with any deficiency I saw. Our family were huge advocates for her care and I was surprised at how many other residents there rarely had family show up. I miss my time during that period with Mom immensely! So Gary, God bless you for what you are doing! And remember to take care of yourself besides caring for your Mom! And watch that facility with eagle eyes!

It is very nice! Looks to be barely used it at all. Also appears to be a newer version than mine. I can't make out what comes after the 10 and before the P in the model number. I wonder if there are more variations out there?

I am aware of at least two pink Princess rod versions. This is one of them, Model 10P.
