Title: Johnson 088A
Post by: Ron on July 16, 2017, 12:45:05 AM
I kept looking at a Johnson 088A with a Garcia Conolon rod $10 that was at a thrift store.  The reel was not working because someone had replaced a missing side plate screw with a wood screw.  I figured that the rod was worth $10, and maybe the 088A handle and nut will fit a 100A parts reel.

The wood screw broke the frame of the 088A and the release button did not work.   The handle and nut did fit the 100A.  The spool cover of the 088A is deeper than the 100A, but also fit.

Now I have gears, spool, cover, star drag, and cover parts for a 088A.  My 100A is almost complete except for the drag dial.
