Came across this on marketplace about a year ago. Have never seen it in any of the catalogs we have here. We are missing 85-87. I bought it off a guy in Michigan. Then, he couldn't find it and sent my money back. It shows up on marketplace again, a year later, under the same name, but a different address. It was at a higher price than I paid the 1st time, so I waited a couple months, offered him the same deal and got it. It helped that he had it listed as a 775. So it was a long and winding road obtaining it. Its a Uni-Spin 725 on a 9 ft., 3 piece rod. The rod matches the 6 ft rod 7256 and the 6 ft rod 7006, color and marking wise, that I have, that are Johnson's. The reel is the same 725 as I wrote about earlier except the foot has been changed to a 2 bolt holder/screw deal. On the 7006, it attaches with 2 screws to threads in the reel, which is metal. In the 88 catalog, it does show a 725 with a 6 ft rod like this. So it's possible it was in 85-87 catalogs. The crappie spins, look similar to the rod but are 5 ft. and attach with 1 screw like the 7256. The 9 ft. rod is 11/16 in. wide at the bottom. My 6 ft rods are 1/2 in. at bottom. Thought I'd post it. Maybe someone here knows the history behind it.
