I acquired this one from Paul yesterday, thanks Paul.
-
Nice. I have been watching for one of those.
-
Yea, you, me and a whole lot of others.
-
Very nice example of a rare reel!
-
Dennis, thanks for pointing me to it on eBay! I now have a Seville in my collection. Not as nice as yours but fully functioning and the last of a reels I really was wanting to add.
-
Hey Chuck, when you take it apart note which way the crank bearings go in. They have a small opening on one side and I had my out before I realized it.
-
Dennis, I looked up the schematics for the 170 and it doesn't show any bearings. Is there a schematic you have that shows these bearings you are talking about? Thanks.
-
Go here look at the third picture on the bottom right just left of the drag lock nut.
The fifth picture shows the bearings in the reel body.
It rides in the reel body pictured below

Your right they didn't put it on the schematic, maybe they considered it a part of the crankshaft assembly.
-
Does yours have an oscillating spool?
-
Yes, has an oscillating spool. I know how that works part wise. I see the bearing now in your pics. Thanks for sharing. I wonder what other reels Johnson put these bearings in?
-
That is the only one I've ever seen
-
There is a Seville 170 on eBay right now. Kind of pricey though. Thought I would let you guys know

I was the first bidder, but got blown out of the water by someone that needs it a lot more than me.
