Title: Sprite 200 pics

I agree with Skip that these small reels are pretty cool. I am impressed with the engineering Johnson put into them. I am also glad Dennis posted the owner’s manual for the 200 so I could read how to get this disassembled. Not my most pristine reel but a nice add.

Great "exploded view", Chuck....thanks!  I have a 200, 200A and a Sprint 205.  They're more fun to fish with than they are to work on.  Even so, great little reels.

Anyone have a schematic for the Sprite 200?

I'm trying to identify parts numbers, etc

Thank you
Gary

There's one in the owners manuals. Sprite part 2

I have been working on a collection of fishable minis and this 205 is my first really small Johnson. You say they fish well?

John

Thank you.  Was able to print the schematic out, and it was legible.

I disassembled one yesterday.  First one I've seen.  Some of the parts look familiar.  So I want to compare the pile of parts to the schematic, etc.

Thank you
Gary

Don't know how legible yours is, so here's one I have.

I got a Sprite 200 in a pile of reels.  Got all excited like any time I come across a reel I've never seen before.  Sat down, cracked my knuckles, took a deep breath......then noticed the foot was broken.

Yep, I was a wee bit disappointed.  So, I stripped it of all usable parts and scrapped the frame.

Next.....

But thank you Dennis

Gary, I've fished with my Sprite 200 and have noticed one problem.  When your hook, whether live bait or lure, gets snagged, the reel doesn't stop cranking.  It keeps on trying to retrieve and winds line under the spinner head, eventually jamming the reel and leaving you with a big mess in the reel.  I experienced this more than once, leading me to demote the model to "display only".  It's a shame, 'cause they're neat little reels.  Just not very fishable.
