Hello from CStan

I was looking to set up a couple rods for the grandkids and decided to see if I could repair a Century 100B my wife got from her dad which was not in working order. It was packed full of 40 year old dried lithium grease and was extremely difficult to crank, the anti reverse didn't click and the drag was siezed up.

After some quick paritial disassembly, grease removal/regreasing it is working again. While working on this real i was intrigued by the design (plus green is my favorite color) and thinking a may get another for myself. I rember seeing these Johnson reels as a kid but I was into Abu Garcia baitcasters at the time and never purchased one.

I later found this site and hope to get additional information to do a complete disassembly and cleaning. The drag seems too stiff and i will now try to adjust it since i now have a manual but I'm thinking it may need to be disassembled and cleaned. I am hoping to learn here more about how the drag system works.

There are some free schematics on this site that can be very helpful.
